Revenge is the second half of the eleventh episode in Season 1 of The Marvelous Misadventures of Flapjack, and the twenty-second episode overall. In this episode, Flapjack is worried that he doesn't have any enemies, so he tries to make some.
Plot[]
Flapjack and K'nuckles are forced to clean a fancy ship to owe unpaid tickets given to them by the Dock Hag due to the duo always parking Bubbie illegally. While Flapjack cleans, K'nuckles tells Flapjack about enemies and how an adventurer is measured in the number of enemies he has. Flapjack tries to make enemies in Stormalong Harbor, but it all backfires because something good happens to them after they do it. Eventully, the ugly, deformed boat sailors tell Flapjack he is their enemy, because they can see their ugliness in the polished boat. K'nuckles tries to distract the boat sailors by letting Flapjack make his enemy acceptance speech, but Flapjack tells the boat sailors how K'nuckles made him clean the whole boat and they realize that they've been tricked and see that K'nuckles tried to frame Flapjack and the boat sailors defeats K'nuckles. Bubbie tells Flapjack that he's too sweet to make enemies, and upset K'nuckles gives Flapjack a letter about how he hates him, much to Flapjack's pleasure.
Trivia[]
- Whenever Flapjack tries to make an enemy, something happens that makes them his new best friend.
- Jeff Bennett oddly performs Slippery Pete with a completely different voice than on his previous appearance.
- The name of an unused character that appears on the series' pitch bible, "Starshine Silvar," can be seen among a list of enemies names tattooed on K'nuckles' arm, right below Eight-Armed WIlly. Silvar also appears beside a police boat, when a criminal breaks into the Candy Barrel and slips on the candy pieces thrown on the floor, falling inside the cell. It makes sense that she'd be K'nuckles' enemy, as she and K'nuckles were originally meant to have a love (but mostly hate) relationship, filled with name-calling and "romantic tension." And it also makes sense that she'd be beside the police boat, as she was originally meant to be the sheriff of Stormalong. This is her second and last appearance on the show, the first being on the episode "Footburn," where she is seen beside The Inventor as he shows her his new invention: the "R.A.M.P."
Running Gags[]
- Squeaking and scrubbing sounds often play in the background (instead of the original background music).
- Every time Flapjack intentionally tries to make an enemy, it backfires on him.
- Bubbie only says one line in "Revenge."
- K'nuckles has written enemies on his arms, legs, and he has a list in a box on his leg.
- The first person on K'nuckles' enemies list is Eight-Armed Willy.

- Flapjack: Okay, thanks, friend! (smiles)
- K'nuckles: You have bigger problems than I thought.
