Trivia[]
- The second or third appearance of Peppermint Larry's yelling voice.
- The second time Peppermint Larry referenced Anton St. Germain (The Mighty B!) and Wiggler (Mario Power Tennis).
- Even though Dr. Barber doesn't appear in this episode, Lolly mentions that he gets paid.
- This is Lolly Poopdeck's only major appearance.
- Not counting the close caption line, K'nuckles' name wasn't mentioned at all in this episode.
- The episode name is related to Charlie Chaplin's quote "A Day without laughter is a day wasted."
- This is Captain K'nuckles's first and only minor appearance in this episode, similar to Flapjack not playing a major role in "Wishing Not So Well."
- Bubbie doesn't appear in this episode.
- The original storyboards for this episode had a completely different story for it, which involved Flapjack and Lolly Poopdeck protesting after Lolly decided to leave comedy for good, feeling underappreciated for his acts and not taken seriously by the townsfolk.
- One of the major differences between this version and the one we got is its nightmare sequence, where characters such as Punsie McKale and Knottsy the Clown would've made their first appearances in an episode ever since the first season, which would've meant that this episode could've been one of the very few to make a callback to previous episodes of the series, alongside "Willy!"
- These old storyboards can be viewed here, and they're currently set as private.
